Food safety is paramount and we're an ISO 22000:2005 company. The primary goal of our company is to ensure that the food we produce will not cause harm to our customers when it is prepared and eaten according to its intended use. The effectiveness of our food safety management system is audited according to ISO 22000:2005 standards, which provide a clear direction in food safety.

At Heydenrychs we aim to provide consumer protection, ensuring that all foods during production, handling, storage, processing and distribution are safe, wholesome and fit for human consumption, conform to quality and safety requirements and are accurately labelled as prescribed by law.

Our butchery (when operated as a physical retail outlet) won the prestigious Cleaver Award numerous times:

The Cleaver Award is an initiative of South African Red Meat Industry Forum. These awards acknowledge butcheries that meet consumer expectations on in-store hygiene, the supply of quality assured roller marked South African Beef, their level of competency in offering the best advice on meal preparations and perceived value for money.

We may have changed to an online butchery, but rest assured the same standards and quality principles are applied to each and every product we manufacture and deliver to your door.


The CGSO was established to guide the consumer goods and services industry as to what is considered the minimum standards of conduct expected and to assist in resolving disputes that arise between consumers and suppliers in terms of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). We are a proud participant to this Code and are bound by it.
